Shuriken. Lone Crusaders in a dangerous world - a World of Ultrarock.
These guys are well worth a listen. There from my hometown of Scunthorpe and have been extremely helpful. Im organising a kind of interview with them which will be on this section as soon as its done. Im going to do reviews of there current tracks soon, and it'll be interesting to see what you think about them.

(This page isnt finished yet so please come back soon)

One band can make a difference:
Their sound has been described as a ‘melodic fusion of post punk and alt-rock, shocked through with soaring vocals’, ‘both catchy and tuneful without making them into a rip-off of a more successful band.’ Put more simply they are always loud, always great, and with some very different influences…

Tarquin Deluxe – Raucous melodic recital / Six string workout: influences fluctuate daily and most recently include Saves the Day, Reggie and the Full Effect and the Pixies.

Buck Horny – Sonic chordal bombastic attack / Chaotic B-Vox: the filthy metaller, this man owns perhaps THE largest collection of Iron Maiden T-shirts of anyone under thirty years of age.

LAN Party – 4 String Manipulation / Rumblespeak: a pop whore, LAN has been to and enjoyed a B*witched gig and owns the entire Britney Spears back catalogue. (Tsk.)

Dragon Fury – Rhythmic timber assault / Stray dog yelps: firmly in the belief that the Smashing Pumpkins will greet him at the gates of Heaven and ‘A’ will be playingin the lift up there.

  Brief History:

Hitting the local ‘scene’ by storming venues with their infectious Ebola-punk, they spread further afield enjoying support slots with the likes of 3 Colours Red, [spunge] and King Prawn with the pinnacle of their early success a Virgin Megastore ‘in store’ to promote sales of their first demo. Since then, their fanbase has been bolstered by numerous appearances (by them and their Lego alteregos) in Kerrang! magazine, “Scumscene Superstars Shuriken…”, “…the band who have most successfully exploited Scumscene and easily become our most talked about band…”, earning them nation wide subscribers to their infozine ‘Banzai!’. Their first demo also entitled ‘Banzai’ was given the thumbs up by US commercial radio stations, including NMW (New Music Weekly), BDS (Billboard), FMQB (FM Quarterback) and R&R (Radio & Records), had tracks from it feature on a succession of small indie label compilations and secured them the spot as the first ‘featured band of the week’ on online rock radio station extremeradio.com. The culmination of the first demo’s work was to be the accolade of one of Music Industry Connection’s Top 10 unsigned bands plus a successful showcase gig at Leicester Square’s prestigious Sound Republic venue. The recording of the new demo ‘Did They Look Like Psychos?’ heralded a step forward for Shuriken as they garnered a promotional deal with Holier Than Thou Records that has lead to tracks being played in Rock clubs and radio stations up and down the country and a string of excellent reviews…

‘…catchy attention grabbing songs that demand to be heard…think fucking superb!’ – Rhythm and Booze fanzine.

‘…it is only a matter of time for these guys before someone sees the potential here!!’ – Ukbase

'...awesome young band...' - Fracture fanzine

‘Raw, excellent…kicking tunes, Shuriken bring it on!’ – The Backwoods

With further promotional backing, the release of the track 'Arch Nemesis' and the forth coming UK tour, Shuriken are looking sweet.
